Walking With our Ancestors: Polish Genealogy with Julie R. Szczepankiewicz

Each November, the Catholic faithful across Poland journey to the graves of their family, friends, and ancestors toremember them, usually with the placing of the Znicz, or lantern in a magical display of light that emanates across the countryside. This honoring and remembering of ancestors have ancient roots and helps to infer the discussionwe have today. Over the past few decades, the study of genealogy has been made more apparent by sites such as ancestry.com and television programs such as “Finding your Roots.” Old fashioned genealogical research has been going on even longer. On today’s episode we feature an interview with Polish genealogist Julie Szczepankiewicz who shares her expertise and knowledge as well as the satisfaction that comes with genealogy research.
