Walters Out for Season After UCL Surgery | Cleveland Guardians News

Andrew Walters’ UCL surgery spells a brutal 10-12 month recovery, sidelining him for the rest of the season and likely much of next — a crushing blow for the Guardians’ pitching depth. Already a chronic injury victim since his 2023 draft, Walters battled shoulder issues, a torn lat, and elbow inflammation before this latest setback. Despite limited MLB time (11 games) and elite stats (1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, 90+ mph fastball), his durability has been his biggest hurdle. While not affecting their current playoff push, this injury forces tough roster decisions for Cleveland’s front office in the offseason.
