WAMS Speaks with Author Carlos Merriweather

School isn’t the only thing that’s out for the summer, as studies show students can lose up to 40 percent of the information they learned throughout the academic year. Instead of turning to the typical summer camp, which, actually fuels the “summer learning slump,” try music lessons, says Carlos Merriweather. Through his work with various educational music programs, including the creation of his own genre “Solrac,” Merriweather came to understand the impact learning or creating a catchy song can have and how it can turn C students into A students.
