Warfarin Clinic Service Set To Be Scaled Down At University Hospital Limerick

Concern has been raised that vulnerable Clare patients could be locked out of a vital hospital service. It's understood that from September 7th, the Anti Coagulation (Warfarin) Clinic at University Hospital Limerick will cease operating five days a week and will instead only be available by appointment from 8am to 12 noon on Mondays and Thursdays. In a letter seen by Clare FM, the HSE says the change is required to continue a safe high quality service for anyone taking Warfarin. Shannon Sinn Féin TD Donna McGettigan says it's a seriously questionable decision.
