A Major Pain for Lt. Malcolm Reed...

In Season Three of Enterprise, the crew dynamic of the NX-01 was “enhanced" in a way that we have never seen before on Star Trek. Due to the dire circumstances that developed at the beginning of the Xindi Arc, we were introduced to an entirely new branch of service from the United Earth Government: the MACOs; a specialized military attachment with orders to safeguard the crew and protect the mission. On Warp Five Episode 11, Christopher Jones talked about the concept of the MACOs and how they were folded into the overall Star Trek mythos.

In this episode of Warp Five – Will, Jeff and our associate producers Mike Morrison and Floyd Dorsey continue our research into the MACOs, with an in-depth look at Major Jeremiah Hayes, played by actor Stephen Culp. Hayes was seen in only five episodes in Season Three as the commanding officer of the MACOs for the mission into the Delphic Expanse. He left and indelible mark as one of the most memorable second-tier characters on Enterprise; akin to the importance of Kellie Waymire’s Crewman Cutler. Please join your Warp Five Crew as we delve deeper into the MACOs' files and learn a great deal more about the valiant Major Hayes!
