Police alleged the discovery of a semi-automatic Glock pistol, ammunition, and significant quantities of drugs. He was immediately remanded in custody, refused bail, and labelled a danger to the public — spending nine months in prison before trial. What was expected to be a three-day case turned into a two-week trial, with the court hearing concerns over possible jury intimidation after members of the public were seen approaching jurors. Despite this, the judge allowed proceedings to continue. Against widespread expectation, the jury returned NOT GUILTY verdicts on all counts.
