Washington Drops to 31st in National Education Ranking

Washington state has fallen to 31st in the nation in the Annie E. Casey Foundation's Kids Count Data Book, down from 27th. The 2026 report shows 70% of eighth graders are not proficient in math and 68% of fourth graders are not proficient in reading.
