Today on America in the MorningWildfires Worsen In Washington State Hundreds of buildings in Washington State’s second-largest city reduced to ashes from the nation’s largest wildfire, over 65 thousand people evacuated, complete neighborhoods wiped off the map, and still no end in sight as now a number of western states will be dealing with poor air quality from the smoke.  Correspondent Julie Walker reports that despite heroic efforts by fire crews, the area being called a war zone has now burned nearly 400 square miles.   Blanche Nomination Moving Forward Two Republican senators who had been holding up President Trump's nominee for Attorney General, Todd Blanche, now say they will vote to move him through committee after written statements from Blanche regarding the anti-weaponization fund.  John Stolnis has the details from Washington.   Trump Bashes Pirro President Trump is clearly not happy with U-S Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeannine Pirro.  Correspondent Clayton Neville tells us the president’s anger comes over a decision involving the Reflecting Pool.   Deaths From Cyclospora The cyclospora outbreak has now turned deadly with two deaths reported in Michigan, and now lawsuits are being filed against Taco Bell and Taylor Farms over illnesses linked to lettuce.  Correspondent Ed Donahue reports.   Maryland Discussing Redistricting While it will have no bearing on the 2026 midterm elections, state legislators are gathering in Maryland to discuss congressional redistricting efforts for the future.  Correspondent Lisa Dwyer reports.   Coach Staying He was the coach who led the US Men’s National Soccer team to the knockout Round of 16, and also set a record for US wins in a World Cup.  Sagar Meghani reports that their head coach will now remain with the squad through the next World Cup 4 years from now.   Primary Day All eyes will be on Michigan as voters will go to the polls in five states today to vote in the primaries ahead of November's midterm elections.  Correspondent Clayton Neville has a preview.   Miller Says No To Leaving An Ohio congressman is facing serious domestic abuse allegations, ones that have members of his own party as well as his former in-law, Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno, saying he must end his reelection bid.  Correspondent Rich Johnson has the latest on Republican Max Miller’s battle to stay in the race and Congress.   Disagreements On Meeting Facing what he called the biggest attack since World War II, President Trump said he held off on going after Iran claiming direct negotiations are planned, despite Iran’s response saying none are being discussed.  Washington correspondent Sagar Meghani reports the president is saying Iran is facing a final opportunity to strike a deal with the U.S.   Senate Working Toward Spending Vote Senate Republicans are racing to complete a lengthy to-do list before leaving town Friday, including approving a stopgap spending bill aimed at averting a government shutdown before the November elections.
