Washington: Year 7, Part 1

We're almost done with comparing George Washington to himself! Today, in the first of a two-part episode, we discuss Washington's seventh year as President of the United States. We'll talk about why bribery is bad, why buying off pirates is good, and why no war is the best score. Resources I used for this episode include:  A Master’s Thesis by Richard D. Younger from Marquette University. For context, Younger was a professor of history at the University of Houston from 1954 until his death in 1988, a lifelong Civil War History expert and member of the Southern Historical Association, and the author of a book about the Grand Jury’s history up to 1941.
