Trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the sea, Israel wanted the familiar misery of slavery rather than an unknown future under God. God used that dead end to expose old habits and teach His people to look to Him. God alone opened the sea and destroyed Pharaoh’s army. His rescue displayed both complete power and love.
