Watching the Man I Love Need My Help!!!

Thanks so much and let’s keep this conversation going This episode of From Creepin 2 Preachin brings tears to my eyes.  Watching the Strong Man I love Need My Help is about the emotional reality of caregiving, marriage, love, changing mobility, and honoring the vows "for better or for worse."I am watching a man who has always been strong, independent, knowledgeable, smart, and wise adjust to needing my help.  A man who once handled his responsibilities and daily needs on his own now uses a walk, sometimes needs me to help him walk, and no longer drives.  Sometimes I see him searching for something to hold onto because he wants to do it himself.  But when I see him struggling I step in.What breaks my heart is seeing the disappointment he sometimes feels in himself.  I can only imagine what it feels like to for a strong, independent man to suddenly need assistance with things he once did without a second thought.But when I look at him, I still see the strong man I married.  His mobility may have changed, but my love for him has not.  When I said, "for better or for worse" I meant it--and today I am living those marriage vows one day at a at a time.To my fellow caregivers, wives, husbands, and families supporting someone they love.  Have you ever watched a strong independent person you love begin to need your help?  Are you living through this journey right now?
