Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Friday cited safety concerns by Mexican officials that triggered a massive international trade incident that has resulted in stopped flights from U.S. airports to Mexico City. The stoppage was announced Thursday by the Trump administration and affects airports in McAllen, San Antonio, Dallas and Austin and nine other U.S. airports, as well all combined passenger and cargo flights by Mexican airlines to the United States from Mexico City’s new Felipe Angeles International Airport.
