from What A World Podcast · host Randall Thomas
In this episode David and I talk about how he came to get sober and regaining trust from his family. We learn that the consequences of numbing consequences result in larger consequences. Recovery treatment taught David how to find the center of himself. “You can not forget about home because now you know about it” David reveals the big secret that trying to get sober for everyone else fails until the pain has to become so bad that the individual wants to make a change. Going from addict to fanatic- David experienced emotional distancing instead of enabling from family and intensified using substances. Taking the path less traveled to his home, David took the last minute chance decision to take the long road home and ended up driving himself into a psychic epiphany. - Gaining a new perspective on life after realizing his decisions have been affecting his life and family. This ended up with him calling his sponsor and making a deal to get sober.
