Unlike the conscious mind, it doesn’t reason or filter—it simply accepts what it is given. He suggested that what you think about right before falling asleep is especially powerful, because those thoughts “marinate” in your subconscious throughout the night. This is why he encouraged ending the day with affirmations of love, gratitude, and possibility rather than replaying worries. 2. Thoughts Become Programs According to Dyer, repeated thoughts become programs that run automatically in the subconscious. If we constantly say, “I can’t,” “I’m unlucky,” or “Nothing ever works out,” the subconscious takes these statements as truth and begins to reinforce them. But the opposite is also true: affirmations like “I am capable,” “I am guided,” or “I attract abundance” gradually become the subconscious “operating system.” 3. Use of Affirmations and “I Am” Statements He encouraged the use of deliberate affirmations—especially “I am” statements. For example: “I am whole. I am strong. I am worthy. I am love.” Dyer taught that “I am” connects you with your divine identity—the God-consciousness within—and impresses this truth upon the subconscious. 4. Visualization and Feeling For reprogramming to work, Dyer emphasized not just saying words but feeling them. Visualization, paired with emotional energy, creates a vivid impression on the subconscious. He encouraged people to see themselves already living their desired life—healthy, abundant, loved, or at peace—as though it were happening in the present moment. 5. Eliminating Negative Self-Talk Dyer also warned about the subtle, repetitive ways we “program” ourselves negatively without realizing it. Statements like “I’m not good at this,” “I’m unlucky in love,” or “I’ll never get ahead” are affirmations too—but destructive ones. His advice: catch yourself in those thoughts, cancel them, and replace them immediately with empowering alternatives. 6. Surrender and Trust Finally, Dyer highlighted that reprogramming the subconscious isn’t just about willpower—it’s about aligning with Source. He often said: “Let go and let God.” By trusting in the divine intelligence and surrendering fears, the subconscious naturally shifts from limitation to a state of flow and ease. ✨ In short, Wayne Dyer taught that your subconscious mind is like fertile soil—whatever seeds you plant in it will grow.
