Wayne "Legend" Brewton-Bey Interview - Endured 38 years in the Maryland Division of Corrections

Join me, Ren, on this powerful episode of the “Out Of Exile Podcast,” as I sit down with Wayne Brewton-Bey, a man whose journey of transformation and resilience is nothing short of extraordinary. Known to many as “Legend,” Wayne spent 38 years in prison, where he took a bold step to make a difference by creating the “Victim Awareness Program”. This innovative initiative allowed victims of various crimes to share their stories with incarcerated individuals, fostering understanding, empathy, and healing. Wayne’s release came following the impactful ruling in “Unger v. State”, and since his return home in 2017, he has dedicated his life to working with troubled youth with Safe Streets in Baltimore, guiding them away from the challenges he once faced. He continues to raise awareness for victims, ensuring their voices are heard and their experiences acknowledged. In this episode, Wayne shares his incredible story of resilience, the lessons he learned during his time in prison, and the vital work he’s doing now to empower the next generation. Don’t miss this inspiring conversation about redemption, community, and the importance of understanding the impact of crime on both victims and offenders. 🔔 “Subscribe for more stories of resilience and hope!” Wayne Brewton-Bey’s links: https://www.aclu-md.org/publications/wayne-brewton-bey-mpp-life-after-second-chance-series-4/ https://www.aclu-md.org/news/second-look-extreme-sentences-saves-lives-and-strengthens-communities/ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-ungers-righting-a-miscarriage-of-justice/ Support the podcast by purchasing the “Out Of Exile Podcast” T-shirt and Hoodies https://warrenhynson.com/fre #OutOfExilePodcast #WayneBrewtonBey #VictimAwareness #Redemption #Community #Inspiration
