After months of strikes on alleged Venezuelan drug boats the USA conducted air strikes on multiple military targets in Venezuela's capital Caracas and captured President Nicolas Maduro. Foreign Minister Winston Peters made the government's first statement following the invasion, saying in a post on X: "New Zealand is concerned by and actively monitoring developments in Venezuela and expects all parties to act in accordance with international law."
