(2:15) Scott also mentions how he began to get active once he lost weight. Now Scott has participated in triathlons! Vinnie recalls the well-known NSNG® success story of Robert Stanton. (4:53) Robert's doctors basically told him to get his affairs in order because they didn't know what else they could do for him. Even though Scott has become very active, he hasn't lifted weights since high school and is asking for advice on how to begin. (7:20) Vinnie goes through an explanation of different ways to get an effective workout. Vinnie advises starting slowly as the muscles, soft tissues, ligaments, bones, etc. need to "catch up" to this new work. (18:15) Vinnie also advises to "only work the muscles you want to keep." (20:35) Vinnie and Scott discuss Scott's goals, what kind of time he has, and Vinnie goes through his own workout. (23:50) Vinnie discusses both upper body and leg day exercises. Vinnie says you don't have to do all of these exercises every time. When Vinnie was active in Ultra racing, he would do Fred Hahn and Ben Bocchicchio's approaches to building muscle.
