Wayward goats and sourdough loaves with Kat Goldin

from Courage and Spice for Coaches: build your Self-belief and Business in under 30mins a week · host Sas Petherick

I first discovered Kat Goldin through Instagram. I could scroll through Kat’s images of Scottish sunsets, comedic goats and Major Tim the dramatic peacock all day.And then last year she taught me how to make sourdough bread and in no small way changed my life.Kat lives at Gartur & Stitch farm, on the edge of Loch Lomond with her family of human, feathered and furry beings. The tagline on the Gartur & Stitch website is a quote from poet Mary Oliver: 'Instructions for living a life. Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.' This is exactly what Kat does so brilliantly. A born storyteller, we get to see that this small farm is a universe unto itself. From the Farm studio, Kat & Kevin teach folks how to raise goats, make cheese, carve spoons, forage for food. And make bread.I have some idea from her writing, that this life has been a long-held dream of Kat’s. We talk about how Kat dreamed of her farm a decade before she saw it, and what it has taken to create a viable business from a team of wayward goats.
