(WCC) West Coast Conference College Basketball Preview 2024-25
from The College Experience: Basketball · host Sports Gambling Podcast Network
The College Basketball Experience (@TCEonSGPN) of the Sports Gambling Podcast Network releases their West Coast Conference College Basketball Preview for the 2024-25 season. On the show Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) and Noah Bieniek (@NoahB77_) break down every single WCC basketball team and key in on how they think the conference race will shake out. Randy Bennett and Saint Mary's swept the regular season and conference tournament titles last season. The Gaels lose three starters from last season (Aidan Mahaney, Alex Ducas, and Joshua Jefferson). But SMC returns Conference Player of the Year Augustas Marciulionis. The Gaels are going to need Marciulionis to step up into more of a shot creation/scoring point guard role rather than a do-it-all type guy. Mitchell Saxen also returns for his 5th season. Saxen provides a steady presence in front of the rim on both sides of the ball with a knack of scoring in the post. Can Saint Mary's get a surprising Sophomore breakout or could a Freshman burst onto the scene to help make the Gaels nationally relevant again this season? Mark Few has Gonzaga nationally relevant in the preseason once again. The Zags return 81.5% of their minutes and are the most experienced and talented roster in the league. Anton Watson was the only starter they lost, but he was their best player on both sides of the ball last season. The Bulldogs' dynamic guard duo in Andrew Nembhard and Nolan Hickman come back for another year, along with big man Graham Ike. Can Khalif Battle or Michael Ajayi add the shot creation aspect that Gonzaga was looking for? What should be the expectations for the Zags this season? What other programs can challenge the two titans atop this conference? Mac and Bieniek finish the West Coast Conference College Basketball Preview with some takes. What are their projected standings at the end of the year? The guys also provide their WCC Basketball sleepers and bust predictions.
