WCPT 820 Interview: Joyce Porter of Oak Park Film Festival

Patti Vasquez is joined by Joyce Porter, Oak Park Film Festival founder and board president. The fest, the third annual, takes place September 19 and 20, with opening night happening September 16.  - All films have an Oak Park connection; submissions are accepted through FilmFreeway, with a limit of two films per person and no production-year restriction.- The weekend program includes independent films, filmmaker Q&As, awards, industry speakers, and food from local restaurants.- Opening night features "Enough Said," connected to Oak Park through Tavi Gevinson, who is expected to provide a recorded interview.- This year adds a screening of previous winners, two documentary award categories, an animated film, and an animation-process talk by board member Charlie Sweitzer.- The festival remains largely volunteer-run with one part-time employee.
