We All Must Humbly Submit Our Doctrines to Scripture

from Brooklyn's Dad Talks About the Bible · host Michael Francis Scotto

We take a look at a couple of quotes from John MacArthur as he sets out to correct what he sees as false teaching. We pause to remind ourselves that we are all subject to error. We are all limited in our capacity to grasp all of scripture. So, we must all be prepared to examine, reexamine, and even modify or discard our own doctrines if the scripture moves us to. In the end, we all will answer as indivduals before God for what we believed and taught. It behooves us to keep certain doctrines in pencil and to always remember we are not the judge of another man's servant. We certainly should be checking each other's teachings, but let us be care to distinguish between holding a false doctrine and being a false teacher. When Paul addresses false teachers, there is attached to the teacher a motive. We need to be aware of those motives, but slow to assign motive without evidence.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/brooklyn-s-dad-talks-about-the-bible--4330982/support.
