S3 Ep 43: We are Women, period. Is dedicated to bringing awareness and the empowerment of women through their bodies. I invited lifestyle influencer, Jymmy owner and creator of Virgin Grooves and lifestyle brand Free Rein as well as Jarrell, husband, father and Creator/Owner of Nomarama and local community activist, to discuss "National Period Day" on October 19, 2019 in the Neon District of Norfolk, VA.  At 3:48, Jymmy explains what is Free Rein and the purpose of her lifestyle brand and using her brand to express her sexuality and the identity that is created through the transparency of women in to today's society. We discuss the stigma of women's period and the taboo centered around women getting their period at 8:20. Jarrell joins the conversation via phone at 16:36 and we get into his involvement of National Period Day and the stigma that he feels women receive from a male perspective. Jarrell states, that he feels that it's his duty to make sure that he use his platform to bring equality  and education in how people view and see things.   We discuss the main purpose of period day which is to end the period tax on tampons and feminine hygiene products that's deemed a "luxury" whereas, Viagra treated for erectile dysfunction and rogaine, for men going bald, is not taxed in some states at 25:25.
