We Can't Trust Billionaires with AI

James and Lisa discuss Trump's obvious racism, his scary plans for the Kennedy Center and his delusional view of himself. In the Main Thing, experts believe that artificial intelligence could create a utopia in which work is optional, where, like Scarlet O’Hara, nobody goes hungry again. As AI technology advances, we cannot trust the oligarchs to create a fair, new Star Trek economy. We need to start organizing around a fair and decent approach to AI adoption, before the oligarchs make that impossible. We're witnessing what could be the stupidest era in American history.Donald Trump and his supporters are spreading fringe ideas, conspiracy theories, anti-intellectualism, and a rejection of science, which are all gaining a foothold in our public discourse. It's maddening. It has never been more important for Americans to stand up for democracy. You don't have to face stupidity alone. Every week (more or less), "Life in the Stupid Times" will examine the insanity to help you make sense of the growing pile of nonsense. We are proudly pro-democracy and anti-fascist.To support the show, visit our Buy Me a Coffee account at https://coff.ee/lifeinthestupidtimes Hosted on Acast.
