We Could Be Heroes Pt. 4 - Rahab & the Big Wall
from Crossroads Go · host Crossroads Church
By faith ________ (Anyone’s name can be added to the fill-in-the-blank.) Every hero of the faith whose story is told in Hebrews chapter 11 is an example of what faith looks like. The Hebrews Heroes of the faith didn’t always have perfect faith. They stumbled, they doubted, and they believed. We are much like them. By faith, Rahab defied her king and provided shelter and safety for God’s people. She put her own life and those of her family on the line by faith that she would be spared. Use the story of Rahab to share how it was by faith Rahab accomplished what God wanted to do through her. Hebrews 11:30-31 NIV 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days. 31 By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient. Hebrews 11:1-2 TLB 11 What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. 2 Men of God in days of old were famous for their faith. James 2:24-26 NLT 24 So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. 25 Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. 26 Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works. Faith works.
