We Doing Trank's - Chronicle (2012)

Before the Marvel stuff went super nuts, but after it was already poppin', a lil superhero movie came out. In 2012, there was... Chronicle A sad, shy boy starts recording everything in the hopes he'll catch his dad beating him. He has a cousin/friend who gives him proximity to a normal high school experience. One night, with a third, super friendly charm machine, they discover underground crystals that give them super powers. "Chronicle" is just great. The found footage angle puts you right into it. Dane Dehan is heartbreaking as the sad boy. Michael B. Jordan as Steve oozes charisma and you truly believe he cares. The cousin character anchors it all as the regular guy along for the ride. I loved this movie when it came out and was afraid it would stink upon rewatch. That was not the case at all. I was more impressed and you couldn't really have a better debut film than this. Tune in.
