Oil and water don’t mix…or do they? When we as Christians get comfortable with the world around us, we begin to compromise our morals. Jesus understands our struggle, but still calls us to be different. The Church at Pergamum shows us how God’s people can remain faithful even in the presence of Satan himself.Sermon Questions: Revelation 2:12-171. Read Revelation 2:12-17. Do you feel like we are living with Satan today? Why or why not?2. All Pergamum's knowledge and culture still led to sin. In what way does our current knowledge and culture sometimes lead Christians to compromise their morals?3. Oil and water don’t mix unless there is a bonding agent (i.e.. particles the water can cling to). What do you think is your bonding agent (i.e.. the thing that pulls you into compromising/sinning)?4. Jesus uses the Bible and suffering/pressure to help us become pure. Which one do you need more of right now?5. Jesus knows the real you by your real name (see vs. 17) and He promises your victory. What specific change can you make that would help your life reflect this reality?
