We Got this! 4 women navigating grief on the holidays (special episode)

from Bloom with a Boom! Grounded by daily practice. · host Rebecca Schlosser

Grief is always hard, but it can make the holidays overwhelmingly sad.  Having lost my father earlier this year, I decided to host a special podcast with 3 guests who have also experienced the pain of losing relatives, broadcast live on FB. We meet Shannon Werner, whose sweet, generous father was her world and passed away shortly after Christmas in 2021.   She had to navigate tremendous grief along with motherhood and being pregnant with her second child.  She finds solace this time of year (and always) by carrying on her father’s compassionate, benevolent spirit and being generous to others.   We meet Amy Kokoles, who’s experienced significant loss in the last few years - 11 people including her Mom, FIL and uncle between 2021 and 2022.  Through her brave and vulnerable sharing we also learn about how she lost a father-like uncle over 20 years ago and then her own biological father after reconnecting with him.  Amy’s pain and loss is accompanied by her spiritual connection to her ancestors, and she brings them to life through her writing and beautiful crystal creations. We meet Jenny Cheifetz, who lost her mother 30 years ago from the day that this podcast was recorded.  When she was just 18 and beginning college the unthinkable happened - Jenny lost her mother, who was also her best friend and much loved in her community.     Jenny has built a career and wonderful family with loving children, and while she still wishes she could call her Mom during challenging times, she makes it a priority to live a life of purpose and positivity.  Below are some additional details and links for our guests: Shannon Warner is host of the Having a Mom Moment Podcast, where she encourages women to nurture and reconnect to themselves before they pour into those who rely on them, and has built a thriving online community to support new mothers in their process.  Follow Shannon at Having a Mom Moment on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/havingamommoment/ Check out the Having a Mom Moment Podcast on Spotify and Apple: https://open.spotify.com/show/5nuRNFkECgyANu0s8mrZyV https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/having-a-mom-moment/id1703344087 Amy Kokoles is a facilitator of a group on FB called Becoming You ~ Beautiful Whispers.  She’s also an International Best-Selling author, Reiki II practitioner, a certified Angel Guide through Kyle Gray and loves supporting and mentoring other women to recognize their beauty and worth in this world.  She makes Whisper Catchers, beautiful repurposed crystals. Jenny Cheifetz is a life and breathwork coach at Jentle Coaching. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband, two teenage children, and two dogs.  She leads a community of sports-loving women on Facebook, and she is the host of the Sideline Sisters podcast that showcases the impact sports has on people around the world and highlights the camaraderie among women bonding over their mutual love of this pastime.  www.jentlecoaching.com Linktr.ee/jentlecoaching  @jentlecoaching on Instagram and Facebook https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sideline-sisters/id1709566379?itsct=podcast_box&itscg=30200&ls=1 Sideline Sisters FB group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/272152127664435 To reach me: Here are my social media links, including some of my writing on Substack. https://www.instagram.com/healingvoyager/ https://www.facebook.com/rebecca.schlosser.5 Private FB group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/859832058689723 https://substack.com/@rebeccaschlosser?utm_source=profile-page   Don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast by clicking the follow button on Apple, Spotify or Google Podcasts - so you don’t miss any episodes!  If something mystifies you, send me a question on social media.  And if something touches you, please leave a review and recommend the show to someone who needs to hear it!
