For this he received the Nobel prize in physiology or medicine. Susumu Tonegawa started his work in the field of chemistry, than he switched into immunology and now he concentrates on neuroscience. He is also a big fan of filmmaker Akira Kurosawa and of the baseball team of Red Sox.
