We Have to Demand, Not Ask For, Universal Healthcare
from Walter Rhein Podcast · host Walter Rhein
The ink hasn’t even dried on the ballots that elected Zohran Mamdani, but both Republicans and Centrist Democrats have already taken to the media in an attempt to sabotage his term before it even starts. We can’t lose track of the fact that the Centrist Democrats absolutely tried to sabotage this campaign. Where were the Democratic leaders denouncing Andrew Cuomo for running as an independent even after losing the primary? Are you kidding me? This should have enraged the whole party, instead, crickets. We were all supposed to just accept what was happening like powerless abuse victims. In every other election cycle I can think of, Centrist Democrats have always blamed progressives for their loses. But there is not one instance of a progressive running an independent campaign that threatened to sabotage the party’s chance of winning an important seat. The centrists have done it and they should be ashamed of themselves. If Centrist Democrats were rational people, they’d look at Mamdani’s campaign and say, “Yeah! That’s how it’s done! That’s a blueprint for how to take back America.”Instead, we’re getting a lot of Mike Johnsonesque babbling about how Mamdani’s platform wouldn’t work in red counties.Oh, you mean the counties that Centrists don’t even bother to contest because they can’t win? Are you talking about those counties? Can all the Centrist apologists kindly shut the hell up?What we’re seeing right now is the corporate owned part of the Democratic party attempting to suck the wind out of their own sails. Where are the congratulations? They are few and far between because most of the old a******s in that party backed Cuomo the betrayer. Today, I’m seeing a tidal wave of comments that present themselves as being “reasonable” but which are truly just full of s**t.“Let’s not get hasty now…”“More moderate positions are more effective…”“It’s not a message that will play everywhere…”Seriously, what the hell are they talking about? You’re telling me that the platform of affordability isn’t going to work everywhere? Are you evil, or just incompetent? For the record, I’m going to assume anyone who promotes that message is evil until it’s proven otherwise. It’s time we all woke up to the fact that the “center” is just as bad as MAGA, and their messaging is just as filled with lies and deceit. They don’t stand for anything. They have not one policy they champion other than to not go to the left. That’s literally all they stand for. They discourage primary challengers because they’re so power hungry. When push comes to shove, they run their sabotage candidates as independents because they’re so ADAMANTLY AGAINST helping the American people. It’s time we started pushing back hard against all their lies.We have to demand, not ask, but DEMAND universal healthcare. We can’t allow the Centrists to distract us with their debates on practicality or whatever other smoke they try to blow.Nobody in the United States is happy about how much their healthcare premiums are going up. Nobody is happy that they have to pay a couple thousand dollars every month just for the privilege of paying a couple thousand dollars more every time somebody gets sick. This system is exploitative and it sucks. It’s immoral. It’s evil. It has to end NOW!Put it in terms of affordability! That’s what Mamdani demonstrated and it worked! Now’s not the time for a bunch of Centrists to give us academic lectures about why they only care about 6 counties in swing states. Now’s not the time to allow Centrists to distract us from the fact that over the last few election cycles, their delusional policies have gotten loss after loss. Now’s not the time to forget that even when we do get a win for the Centrists, they refuse to do anything for us.The center is a lie. The center is done. The center is over. They try to say it’s “risky” to run on an ambitious platform that the people want. I say it’s risky to keep sticking with the same failed strategy over and over and expecting a different result.Don’t allow them to brainwash you into thinking their position is reasonable. They’re just as evil as MAGA. I actually think they’re allies of MAGA. The Centrist Democrats just want to get rich at our expense. Everybody is sick and tired of this b******t.Say it with me, “I demand universal healthcare. I demand a government that works for the people. I demand that all Americans have access to education, fair pay and a roof over their head.”The Centrists are too cowardly to openly state they’re against those things. But they reveal their intentions through their efforts to sabotage candidates that have the courage to stand up for the people.Centrists are not your friends. They’d rather see fascists in government than progressives.Do not do their work for them. Do not assist them in normalizing their message.Demand universal healthcare. Now’s the time. It’s what the people want. You all make this newsletter happen! Thanks for your sponsorship!
