In his travels he faced religious and political opposition that led to his being run out of town when he wasn’t beaten and arrested. He and his peers also faced the physical dangers of travel that included their being ship wrecked, and stranded. There was always the possibility of encountering bandits and robbers. And they didn’t always know who would welcome them or where they would stay. Paul had a vision. The group was convinced that it was from God. So they tried. With every setback and hardship, they kept trying. There’s nothing easy about answering God’s individual or collective calls to us.
