We Honor You Today by Susan R. SmithTo all of our veteransFar and near.We thank you for your serviceFor all those years. You sacrificed your time,And some gave your life. You preserved our freedomBy willingly paying the price. Many of youWere sent overseas. You were wounded in battle,With scars and disease. But courageous and brave,You weathered the storm. You faced every battleWith faith and beyond. We honor you with joyFor all that you've done. You stood strong for our country,For our daughters and sons. So no one stands alone,We walk hand in hand.Remember, we are with you.Together we shall stand. We salute you today.Hear what we say.Let our words speak eloquentlyIn this special way. On this day,Let us express our love and thanksFor the sacrifice you paid. You served in honorFor many years and days,And we will never forgetHow you were strong and brave.Support the showPoems are green and Poetry is mean. -Poetry Beast Please accept my endless gratitude,I'm tickled pink,You're a gift!Thank you for your time and attention. It's a blessing you've stopped to observe and listen.ADDITIONAL INFO: @thebaldheadedpoet | Linktree
