We Live We Love We Lie

from Lines of TikTok Hosted by Zara Voss

The viral TikTok trend "We Live We Love We Lie" revolves around the song "The Spectre" by Alan Walker. The lyrics "We live, we love, we lie" from this song became a significant element of a TikTok meme universe, specifically associated with a meme known as Smurf Cat. This meme features imaginative illustrations, such as a blend of a Smurf with a cat, and has been portrayed in various TikTok videos alongside other creative animal blends like a Strawberry Elephant and a Pineapple Owl. The trend gained traction in September 2023 and also showcased artwork depicting creatures journeying through a forest, with memes often including the particular lyrics from Alan Walker's song. The trend highlighted the song's catchy phrase and helped revitalize its popularity, adding a fresh, humorous spin through the Smurf Cat meme and other imaginative visuals on TikTok.
