We Love Hakka (Culture: 客家織染、織帶 (Hakka Patterned band)

from We Love Hakka 客家風情 · host ICRT

When thinking of hand-woven belts, many people would think of indigenous patterns. But Hakka people have created patterned bands for centuries. They would sew the woven bands along their Blue shirts’ collar, cuffs, or hem. Nowadays, the patterned bands have more modern uses. They are often made into key rings, bracelets, and mobile phone straps. By showing and using it in everyday life, more people will be able to learn about the crafts and design aesthetics of the Hakka people. -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
