We Love Hakka (Song: 黃鎮炘 Huang Chen-hsin –還我 Restore to me)
from We Love Hakka 客家風情 · host ICRT
Huang Chen-hsin is a native of Shigang in Taichung, and he brings the local Dapu dialect to life in his music. Through his songs, he shares his personal observations and experiences. A staunch environmental advocate, he wrote this song “Restore to Me,” to paint a vivid picture of rural beauty being overshadowed by urbanization. The song laments how factories pollute the air, hiding the green mountains and blue seas, buildings block the view of the moon and rainbows, and rivers turn into dumps. In his powerful lyrics, Huang voices a deep longing for the return of the beautiful, joyful paradise that once was. -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
