We Love Hakka (Song: 山狗大後生樂團《時間个身影》The Shadow of Time)

New Sangeutai Band is joining hands with the poet Ceng Gui-Hai (曾貴海) to inspire listeners with Hakka poetry. Together, they’ve produced an album entitled “A Dragonfly Reads a Poem” in an homage to their hometown of Jiatung, Pingtung. The album melds contemporary style with a Hakka rustic quality to explore the land’s relationship to the Hakka language. Hakka artist Lin Yu-Ting’s (林鈺婷) silky smooth tone transports the imagery of the South to move the listener. The music’s delicate structure reveals the perfect amalgamation of the poetry and music. -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
