Vs 4-5 Spiritual life requires being cleansed from sin, and given new life through the power of the Holy Spirit. Vs 6-7 Human effort, (religion), can never produce spiritual life; only God can give life. Vs 8 Like the wind, the Holy Spirit works inscrutably and invisibly, but the effects of His work are visible. Vs 9-10 God will hold us accountable to know and do what He has written in His word. Vs 11-15 Trust in Christ’s sacrificial payment for your sin is the only way to have eternal life with God.
