We Must Be One Body

from Heritage Baptist Church Haslet

Unity in the church is the main message: I want us to come together as one body so we can move forward for Christ. I speak from Romans 12 and remind you that God has given each of us a measure of faith and unique gifts to serve. I have started the candidate process and ask you to pray for me and the men as we seek wisdom and unity. If I am presented as a candidate, my conviction is to accept only with 90% approval because I want the whole church moving together. You can help now by serving—nursery, ushers, teachers, security, coffee shop—and by calling or visiting people who are missing. We have deacons and men carrying heavy loads; your help will lighten it and help us fulfill the Great Commission. Let’s link arms, reach out, and work together so Heritage Baptist can grow and bless the world. Paul's teaching from Romans 12 is the core of what I share here. I talk about unity in the church. I remind you that each person has a measure of faith and a set of gifts. I say do not think more highly of yourself than you ought. We are many members, but one body. That means every role matters. We need teachers, ushers, nursery workers, greeters, security, and people to serve in small ways. When you use your gifts, the church grows stronger. I make it plain that unity must come from the ground up. We need to stop pointing fingers. We must prefer one another and give others the benefit of the doubt. I challenge you to call people who are missing. A simple visit or text can rebuild bonds. When we act together, our local work reaches around the world through missions. We are called to serve, not to hoard our time or talents. Takeaways: I told you we must be unified as one body to fulfill the Great Commission together. You have God given gifts and I ask you to use them in church service and outreach. We are starting the candidate process and I would only accept the church with 90% approval. I reminded you that unity starts from the ground up and you can help by reaching out to absent members. We need more volunteers for nursery, ushers, security, teachers, and small tasks so the load is shared. Paul's teaching in Romans chapter twelve shows you and me that no church role is unimportant and all gifts matter. We must stop pointing fingers and find practical solutions together, not excuses, so the church can move forward. Companies mentioned in this episode: Heritage Baptist Church
