WE NEED MORE HOUSING

Nathan Hagen is the chapter lead for YIMBY Tampa. Yes In My Back Yard or YIMBY (a play on the NIMBY acronym) is a group who advocates for more housing supply. From the YIMBY TAMPA website: We are a group of volunteer housing advocates in Tampa fighting to end the housing shortage in our community. We are frustrated by the tenant displacement, segregation, high rents and home prices, and long commutes that result from a lack of housing close to jobs, schools, and other community resources. We believe we can fix these problems and create a community with abundant, affordable homes for everyone.The housing shortage is a result of harmful laws at all levels of government. Inclusive housing policies will help shrink the racial wealth gap, reduce displacement, reduce carbon emissions, and give more people access to jobs and high quality schools.
