We Reflect On 9/11 With Hendersonville Police Chief Blair Myhand

A single sound can lock a moment into your memory forever and for Hendersonville Police Chief Blair Myhand, that sound was the Pentagon explosion on 9/11. He joins us for a powerful, detailed remembrance of that morning while he was working for the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., including the split-second shift from confusion to certainty, the boat ride across the Potomac, and hours spent evacuating people through smoke, debris, and total uncertainty about what might come next. It’s a story of courage that feels immediate even 25 years later. We also keep our feet on the ground with what’s happening right here at home. We talk about the Henderson County real estate market, why “real estate is local,” and how buying and selling still happen through every economic cycle because life keeps moving. We share how our team supports homeowners and investors with residential and commercial needs, including 1031 exchanges and tax-aware planning, and we highlight weekend open houses so you can see the market for yourself. This Hometown Hero Series conversation is ultimately about service and community: remembering sacrifice, noticing everyday heroism, and choosing to show up for the people around us. If it moves you, share it with someone who needs a hopeful reset, then subscribe, leave a review, and tell us who you think deserves the next Hometown Hero spotlight.
