We Remember Sid Caesar, Video Rental Shops, and those Clunky VHS Tapes

On this episode of Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site, we look back at the closure of Blockbuster Video, the well-known video rental house. George looks back at how this industry came into being and how the demand for video rentals drove the growth of these neighborhood stores. Mike and Smitty also recall their experiences in renting movies and visiting the mom and pop video rental stores of the past. How was it that Blockbuster closed? Find out by listening in! We also look back at the life of Sid Caesar, the pioneer television sketch artist who is remembered for his work on such shows as "Your Show of Shows", and "Caesar's Hour", as well as his motion picture work. The Galaxy guys recall their memories of watching Sid Caesar on TV, and recall the era of live television programming. Our Retro-Commercial is a classic one for Blockbuster Video.
