We Watch the Avengers
from Stark Contrast · host Kaitlyn Lee
The episode begins with Kaitlyn providing a one-sentence synopsis of Avengers (2012). Hailey lets listeners know she's seen almost all of the Marvel movies, Kaitlyn says she stopped watching as many of them post-Endgame, and Teri reveals the few Marvel movies she has seen. They take a break to watch the film together, and then come back to discuss their opinions. Teri summarizes the film in one minute and then Kaitlyn reads the IMDB summary. The three of them talk about their favorite scenes, their favorite-to-least-favorite characters, whether any scenes gave them chills, and how they feel about the runtime. Teri reveals some family history to explain why she hates Hawkeye. They each rate the movie on a scale of 1-10, and discuss how nostalgia affects the viewing experience. They begin the final segment with a round of trivia questions. They talk about Robert Downey Jr’s set snacking, who had to eat their weight in protein when preparing for the role, and who was trained by Olympic athletes. Afterward, they each recast the film. Teri argues why Jack Black would be the perfect Iron Man, Kaitlyn compares Captain America and Iron Man’s rivalry to Heated Rivalry, and Hailey argues that the scrawny brothers from the Summer I Turned Pretty would be her Thor and Loki. They complain about the lack of women in the film, and all come up with creative ways to include more women in their casting of the main Avengers (like casting Florence Pugh as Thor). They wrap up by playing Kiss, Marry, Kill, and agree that they would all marry Tony Stark for his money, and that Steve’s traditional values are a major turn-off.follow us @starkcontrast on X, Instagram, and Youtube
