Gen X spent years being handed armor that didn't fit — Boomer definitions of success, command-and-control leadership models, career paths that rewarded conformity over the strengths that actually made us effective. Many of us tried it on, wore it for a while, got reasonably far in it — and felt the same thing David felt when he put on Saul's armor: I cannot go in these.
