As Christian health-workers we are challenged to show the Father’s heart of compassion to a needy world where there is a huge gap between the high cost of holistic, quality healthcare and the poverty of many of our communities. We need a radical trust in our great God that He will provide all the resources for this noble task. • What key relationships can help us? • How can community health insurance help us? • How can harnessing the power of IT support us?  Ian and his wife, Hanna, have two adult children, Mark and Ruth, and have worked in the NHS until 1987 when they went for 6 years with TearFund to Kisiizi Hospital in Uganda. He subsequently worked as a Consultant Pediatrician in Macclesfield, UK, during which time he developed Stre@mline, a patient-centered electronic medical record IT system, and served a term as national Senior College Tutor for the Royal College of Pediatrics & Child Health. They returned to Kisiizi in 2012 as associate volunteers with CMS where they co-ordinate the Friends of Kisiizi internationally, supporting core medical services and the largest community health insurance scheme in Uganda. He further developed Stre@mline winning first prize in the 2022 Swiss Re Foundation Entrepreneurs for Resilience Award and has contributed to the development of the recently launched WHO Quality Toolkit.
