Webinar #173 Drs Rajni & Naro - Engaging with marginalised communities

from ICMDA Recordings · host ICMDA

Recorded on 2 November 2023 for ICMDA Webinars. Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Rajni Herman & Moanaro Ao. New Delhi, the capital of India, is the hub where people from all walks of life migrate in search of a better future and a better tomorrow. For many, this step proves to be a giant leap for reaching their desired ambitions, but unfortunately for a few, their struggle would never reach an end. When this is compounded with a life limiting disease like HIV, the impact on their physical, mental, social, and economic status is profound. This talk addresses the issues faced by such communities and how help can be extended. Dr Rajni Herman has been working in Shalom, Delhi, a Palliative Care Unit of Emmanuel Hospital Association, for the past 13 years, took over as the project director in April 2020. Rajni has done her diploma in family medicine and then a fellowship in Palliative medicine, is married to a pastor, and she has 2 teenage daughters. Dr Naro works as a Medical Consultant in Shalom. She presently resides in Delhi and married with three children.
