All over the world healthcare systems are increasingly pressured. Attitudes of many doctors and other healthcare workers are changing, with concerns about work-life balance and burnout.In this context multi-professional team members might be less willing to “go the extra mile” in offering compassionate care, in the way Jesus demonstrated. There are many studies that show compassion benefits not just patients but also healthcare workers.Professor Rylance will be sharing thoughts about the nature of Whole Person Care, evidence for the benefits, and how it can be taught.Professor Rylance has been a Consultant in General and Renal Medicine in Wolverhampton, UK.
