Webinar #90 Dr Chris Steyn - Dear doctor, how are you?

from ICMDA Recordings · host ICMDA

Recorded on 3 February 2022 for ICMDA Webinars. Dr Peter Saunders chairs a discussion with Dr Chris Steyn. Dr Chris Steyn has been through a few stressful challenges: Struggling with suicidal thoughts, losing soulmates, wrestling with intellectual challenges, trying to break out of the stranglehold of dysfunctional families, burdened by depression for several years, marriage cracking, children causing desperation, work load crushing, emigration, working cross-culturally. And yet: God’s grace has been more than enough. Now happily married, getting along well with kids and grandkids, coping with workload, and all-round healthy. He says about this webinar: Our medical education teaches us to focus on the well-being of our patients. Yet, we can easily fall into the trap of neglecting our own health: physically, psychologically, spiritually, socially. Together we will make brief but comprehensive self-evaluations, followed by planning a few significant SMARTIE action steps and prayer for one another. Song Against Songs, The by G. K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) LibriVox LibriVox volunteers bring you 9 recordings of The Song Against Songs by G. K. Chesterton. This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) Summer 2011 | Public lectures and events | Video London School of Economics and Political Science Video files from LSE's summer 2011 programme of public lectures and events, for more recordings and pdf documents see the corresponding audio collection.
