Wednesday 24 June 2026: Former All Black Lima Sopoaga on Moana Pasifika disbanding for the 2027 Super Rugby season

On Sports Fix with Elliott Smith for 24 June 2026, today it was officially announced that New Zealand Rugby are not approving a license transfer for Moana Pasifika to participate in Super Rugby Pacific in 2027. They have said they have explored every possibility for a long term solution but none of the interested parties were able to satisfy the capital and a business plan requirements needed to secure the license. Lima Sopoaga is a former All Black and has been very vocal on his support for the franchise, he joined Elliott to discuss.
