Bless the Lord, O my soul!Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, how great you are, clothed in majesty and honour, wrapped in light as with a robe! All of these look to you to give them their food in due season. You give it, they gather it up; you open wide your hand, they are well filled. You take away their breath, they die, returning to the dust from which they came. You send forth your spirit, and they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.R/. Bless the Lord, O my soul!Gospel: Mark 7:14-23At that time:  Jesus called the people to him again, and said to them,  “Hear me, all of you, and understand:  there is nothing outside a person which by going into them can defile them; but the things which come out of a person are what defile him.” And when he had entered the house and left the people,  his disciples asked him about the parable.  And he said to them,  “Then are you also without understanding?  Do you not see  that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile them,  since it enters, not their heart but their stomach, and so passes on?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)  And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles them.  For from within, out of the heart of a person,  come evil thoughts, fornication, theft, murder, adultery,  coveting, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness,  envy, slander, pride, foolishness.  All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
