The City of Moab only uses about 27 percent of the water allotted in its water rights. But demand for water is expected to rise significantly in the coming decades as Moab’s population grows. During a city council meeting on Tuesday, city engineer Chuck Williams said Moab will consider diverting water from the Colorado River if groundwater supplies dwindle.
