The final three months are starting off huge with two big releases for the October 2nd weekend. On episode 83, LaF is breaking down The Martian and The Walk to let listeners know what they should go see this weekend. First, Matt Damon stars in the Ridley Scott directed film The Martian, as astronaut Mark Watney who must struggle to survive on Mars after being left behind and presumed killed. Early buzz for the film has critics and audience loving this film that was adapted from the best selling novel written by Andy Weir. Opening only on IMAX screens this weekend, is The Walk from director Robert Zemeckis and starring Joseph Gordan-Levitt as tightrope walker Philippe Petit. The movie retells Petit's 1974 high wire crossing between the World Trade Center towers. The film expands nationwide onto movie screens of smaller size next weekend.
